The auxillary fan on my X5 3.0i is not working. Air conditioning works while driving but not at lower speeds/stops, and coolant temperature shoots up after its been driven around for a bit or if its hot outside. Yes, the blower/fan stays on after a nap. I was hoping not, but yes it does. It does the same with car running, turning down the fan speed all the way until off. The unit turns off, the motors/controls make a few changes but the fan stays running. = (.
If itβs good, check for debris on the evaporator or heater. Decreased airflow causes the blower motor resistor to overheat and fail. Reduced airflow also causes the blower motor to work harder, draw more current and that can cause repeat blower motor resistor failures. Blower motor fuse blows repeatedly. Blower motor is drawing too much power.
